Welcome to my very first post on my brand new blog!
I love looking online at what other people create and I decided it was about time I made a blog so I can display my own makes and maybe spread a little inspiration along the way.
I've decided to start out with a few posts that show a selection of my favourite makes using Papermania's Gorjuss collection. I adore this range and have found it a lot of fun to work with.
First up is this card featuring the "Dear Apple" image.
I covered the card blank in the red backing paper, leaving no border. I then cut the largest two frames from the die set from a piece of dark grey cardstock. The inner oval frame is glued directly onto the red backing paper, whereas the outer frame is backed onto the green backing paper, and then stuck to the card using foam pads.
I then stamped a greeting onto the bottom decoupage layer. I stuck the stamp onto the block in a slightly curved shape so the greeting followed the line of the oval. I then layered up the decoupage using foam pads and stuck it the middle of the die-cut oval. The design has a lot of dimension (which hopefully this second photo shows better than the first), and i think the 3D frame balances the central decoupaged image nicely.
I really like how the main image fits perfectly into the centre of the diecut frame, and how the stripes in the oval frame complement the stripes on the Gorjuss girl's dress.
I love it when two completely different craft ranges come together so seamlessly.
The Gorjuss papercrafting range has lots of little extras which are perfect for accenting a card or decorating the envelope, as you can see below.
