Hi All,
Another card featuring this gorgeous kit from Melissa Frances - couldn't resist!
The kit is so versatile; last week's card was super-girly, and today's card is quite masculine. In fact, I've made this card for my other half, who likes all things starry.
I started by adding three of the backing papers to the card blank as shown.
I then set a black eyelet in the tag, and looped through some coordinating bakers twine. I wrapped the same bakers twine around the grid pattered topper three times and secured at the back with tape.
I then placed the toppers and tag on the card in an overlapping arrangement, as shown, and stuck them down with foam pads, using a double layer for the greeting so this sits higher than the other two.
I cut the stars using layering dies and stuck these on the card at differing heights, using either glue or foam pads, depending on if the the star sits behind or above a topper and how much dimension I wanted to give the star.
I used an old-school embossing label maker (which my parents had when I was a child!) and used this to write the 'thank you' greeting, and I stuck this next to the largest star.
Finally, I finished off the card by adding a few tiny die-cut stars from my stash, and by embossing the envelope flap with a coordinating design.

Hi All,
Decided to have a root through my old stash and found this gorgeous kit from Melissa Frances. What a gem! It inspired this oh-so-romantic shabby chic design.
First I die cut the melded hearts from the bottom left corner of the backing paper. I then backed this onto pink paper and stuck this to the card blank - using scissors to trim any overhanging edges flush with the card itself.
I then die cut the filigree heart out of dark green pearlescent cardstock and fixed this to the card with glue.
Next, I layered up the toppers from the kit as shown, using foam pads. I die cut four leaves from green card and arranged these together with some pink and blue paper flowers from my stash in the bottom right of the card, using more foam pads for dimension.
I finished the card with some pearls and a little green heart left over from die-cutting the filigree heart. I always keep these bits of "waste" from die-cutting - so useful for adding a finishing touch and great for shaker cards too.
Lastly, I embossed the envelope flap with a coordinating design. So pretty!

Hi All,
And now for something completely different...
Today's card was made using a Buzzcraft Art Deco Foiled Diecut Topper Set called "Moonlight Serenade".
I started by taking the stepper card blank and scoring some extra fold lines. The stepper has a peak either side, and on each I scored extra lines going 1cm diagonally out from the fold line - essentially making a gusset. Once folded it gives the card a slanted fold - very in-keeping with the art deco artwork.
Next I added glue to the front U-shape of the card and covered the card blank with the starry card from the set, and then trimmed it using scissors so it fits the U-shape of the card. With the waste I covered the middle panel - but I turned the card the other way round so the blue gradient of the sky goes the other way.
I used
peel-off border stickers as shown on the pictures - this not only adds
an art deco touch to the card but also serves to neaten the edges of the
U-shape cut from the card.
Next I cut two rectangles from dark blue card, one about two cms shorted than the topper, and another about 2cms shorter than that. I matted and layered both of these rectangles on silver mirri card to give them a thin silver border and then cut them in half vertically. I arranged these either side of the topper in a fan shape as shown in the photos, and stuck them in place. I backed this onto white card and cut it out before I mounted it onto the middle panel of the card blank (as this is visible over the edge of the back of the card).
I then die-cut three circles - the largest from silver mirri card, the next from the dark blue card, and the smallest from a light blue scrap of the starry card from the set. I matted and layered these together and stuck this to the bottom left of the card with foam pads, so that it's hanging off the side and bottom edges. I then used edge of the card blank as a guide and cut the edges of the circle off.
Lastly I stamped the greeting into the bottom left of the card, added three gems to the bottom right, and used a quickie glue pen and dark blue glitter to pick out some details in the image.

Hi All,
Welcome to the last blog entry of my Gorjuss Extravanaganza. I've loved working with this range - I absolutely adore the imagery.
"The Dreamer" is making a second appearance today (see also Day 6) - just couldn't resist making another card with this image - I love the colour combo!
I started this card by covering the top half of a teal card blank with pink damask paper. I then covered the join with purple lace ribbon.
Next, I assembled the decoupage layers using foam pads and stuck the image to right of the card, again using foam pads. I then stamped the greeting onto one of the little die-cut banners that comes with the decoupage from the Gorjuss Papermania range and stuck this above the ribbon on the left side of the card. I used a thick foam pad under the middle of the banner and stuck the ends down with glue so that the greeting has a curve.
Lastly I finished the card off with a bow and some gems.

Hi All,
Welcome to the penultimate day of the Gorjuss launch of my new blog!
Today's card features the sweet "I'm Falling For You".
First I took a blue/grey card blank from the Gorjuss range and added a couple of inches of the taupe paper along the left hand side.
I next punched the gothic border from black cardstock and stuck this along the join between the card blank and the paper. Along this I then stuck a strip of hearts (a little die-cut extra from the range).
I then layered up the decoupage image using foam pads and stuck this to the card using more foam pads. I then arranged some paper flowers, leaves and black twine from my stash to the bottom right of the image. The purple flowers I had were too bright for this card, so I coloured them in with a black water-based pen and then added a few drops of water into the middle and left them to dry on some kitchen paper. This made the colour of the flowers darker and more muted to match the card, and gave the flower an ombre finish too.
I then stamped a greeting onto a die-cut greeting plaque that comes with the range and stuck this so it overlapped the heart strip. And lastly, I finished with some light blue pearls.

Hi All,
I'm getting
towards the end of the Gorjuss Extravanganza now - just two more posts
after this one before I move on to something a bit different (though
I'm sure Gorjuss will pop up again in the future).
Today's card has another cute image with an 'Alice in Wonderland' theme (see "The Hatter" from Day 2).
For this card I first die-cut the gothic border square from dark grey cardstock and then threaded pink bakers twine through the border and tied the ends into a bow. I attached this to a beige card blank from the Gorjuss range.
Before layering up the decoupage using foam pads, I stamped the greeting to the top right corner of the image. Once the decoupage was assembled I stuck this to the grey gothic square.
Lastly, I finished the card by adding pale blue pearls to the each of the points of the border.

Hi all,
The captivating artwork on today's card is called "My Secret Place" - an image that I thought was a perfect match to the greeting "A little birdie told me".
For this card I covered the bottom of a red tweed card blank with plum damask paper, both from the Gorjuss range.
I then took a strip of grey card and used the largest die from the Tonic Affections set to die-cut the pinked edge along the strip (this effect could also be achieved with decorative-edge scissors). I stuck this along the middle of the card and covered it with stripy paper and ribbon from the range.
I made up the decoupage using foam pads and stuck this to the right of the card, and then stamped the greeting on the left, and added a pre-tied bow from the range in the middle.
Lastly, I added some lilac gems to the card and used one of the die-cut extras that come with the range to decorate the envelope flap.

Hi All,
Day 10 of my Gorjuss extravaganza! Today's fairy tale themed card features the whimsical "Little Red".
I started this card by using a Quickie Glue Pen to pick out details on the card blank, and adding black glitter.
I then layered up the decoupage using foam pads and stuck this onto the card so that the girl looks as though she is standing on the grass.
I stamped the greeting in black ink, then traced this over with the Quickie Glue Pen and added more black glitter.
I finished the card with a die cut moon and some star shaped gems.

Hi All,
Another day, another Gorjuss card!
The focal artwork of today's card is entitled "The Foxes" - seems I'm running with a fox theme at the moment!
I started by covering the top half of a dark blue card blank with a pale blue damask paper, both from the Gorjuss range. I then placed a strip of stripy blue cardstock and some stripy ribbon horizontally along the middle of the card.
I layered up the decoupage image using foam pads and stuck this to the right side of the card, again using foam pads.
The greeting was die cut from cream card and this was stuck below the decoupage image. The card was finished with a pre-tied bow from the range, a button and some teal pearls.

Hi All,
After a little break I'm back with another Gorjuss post!
Today's card features the oh-so-cute artwork "The Fox" AKA "Kitsune".
For this card I assembled one of the decoupage images using foam pads and lightly inked the edges with bronze ink. I stuck this to a green card blank from the range, again using foam pads.
I then punched the border and die cut the greeting from brown card and stuck these to the card as shown.
Lastly I accented the card with a selection of paper flowers and leaves, as well as some gems and pearls, all from my crafty stash.

Hi All,
I'm back with my seventh Gorjuss offering! :)
Today's card features the sweet and sincere artwork "From the Heart". The little letter the girl carries made me think that the greeting "distance means so little when someone means so much" would be absolutely perfect for this card. To me that sentiment perfectly captures what the image conveys.
I started by die-cutting two decorative rectangles - a larger one out of red cardstock, and a slightly smaller one out of cream cardstock. I also cut four hearts from the middle of the red rectangle (this isn't visible once the cream rectangle is layered on top). I softly inked the edges of the red rectangle with black ink and then stuck both rectangles onto the shaped card blank.
I layered up the decoupage image from the range with foam pads and glued that to right side of the card blank and stamped the sentiment onto the left. I finished off the card with the die-cut hearts and some black gems, and I added a die-cut heart to the envelope flap too.

Hi All,
Oops! So much for posting every day! I'm afraid work, internet issues, and life in general got the better of me for a couple of days. But I'm back with my next post!
Today's card features the ethereal and fantastical artwork "The Dreamer".
I started by covering the top half of a plain card blank with a pink polka dot paper from the Gorjuss collection, and used the same paper in lilac on the bottom half. I then stuck an aqua ribbon from the range along the join between the two.
I thought "make a wish" was a perfect greeting for this image so i stamped that onto the base layer of the decoupage before assembling it. I got the curve on the greeting by using a clear stamp and fixing it onto an acrylic block in a curved shape - I lined this up against the image to make sure it was right before I stamped it.
I layered up the decoupage
using foam pads and glued this to the centre of an oval which I die-cut from a teal paper from the range. I then stuck this to the card blank using foam tape and finished the design with a bow, a pink pearl heart embellishment, and some gems.

Hi All,
I'm still experiencing some internet gremlins :( but I'm back with another card and Day 5 of the Gorjuss launch of my new blog!
Today's featured artwork is the captivating and dreamy "Hush Little Bunny".
For this card I firstly punched a strip of navy card with a border punch and stuck this about two thirds of the way down a blue card blank from the Papermaia Gorjuss range.
The stamp I used looks quite different to how it looks on the card. I masked off parts of the stamp when inking it up and that allowed me to stamp the two parts of the greeting separately and remove the border too.
I layered up the decoupage using foam pads and stuck to a scalloped oval that I die-cut out of maroon cardstock. I then fixed this to the card blank with foam tape.
I die-cut out a flower from maroon card and layered this up with a pre-tied bow and one of the die cut extras from the range and finished off the design with some gems and pearls. Lastly, to decorate the envelope I used a die-cut bunny from the set.
